Confirmation Registration Information

Confirmation registration forms have been sent out via email postal mail to all families who either pre-registered or have recently been in the Religious Education program. If you need a registration form, you can pick one up in the parish office. Registrations forms, along with the $75 registration fee, are due by Friday, August 20th.

There is a mandatory Confirmation parent meeting on Sunday, September 19th from 10:45-11:15a.m. in the McKinstra Room. At this meeting, parents will learn about new changes to the Confirmation program,as well as receive their child's Confirmation books and small group leader's name.

Baptismal Certificate Policy

We must have every candidate’s baptismal certificate on file before he/she can be Confirmed. (If your child was baptized at St. Catherine’s, you do not need to turn in a certificate.) You will need to request an official certificate from the church at which your child was baptized. However, these official certificates are only valid for a six month period. Since we are hoping that Confirmation will be in the spring of 2011, we cannot accept any baptismal certificates prior to January. If you turn one in, it will expire too soon, and you will be asked to request another one. Please do not turn any certificates in prior to January 2011.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation can be celebrated at any Catholic parish. Here is our schedule for your convenience:

Tuesdays and Fridays                    After 7 am mass                   St. Catherine of Siena Church

Saturdays                                          3:15-3:45                               St. Catherine of Siena Church

Or By Appointment                                                                          St. Catherine of Siena Church

When Catholics receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation we have the opportunity not only to be forgiven, but also to receive advice from the Priest in living a better Christian life. It is a source of conversion and spiritual growth for us. It is a wonderful way to enter into the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Special Note: For young people who have not attended religious education classes for seventh and eighth grade, we ask that they take one year of classes before entering into the Confirmation program. These classes will provide the students with crucial information and education and will help them prepare for the Confirmation program. Sign-up in the Religious Education office or the Youth Ministry Office.
